Long story short, I think I had 2 of these before my parents moved states (I stayed behind for school.) Never seen them since. For about 15 years now I’ve been hunting them, but I thought I might just see if anyone has one or two they want to unload? Don’t mind if they have different art or colors, just after the same yoyo. Help me end my search
For anyone that may just happen to click on your post besides you, because I haven’t seen that name in a while, provide little information just for historical purposes, if nothing else.
Way back then, when Dave Bazan Released the Menehune, Around the same time, one of my signature yo-yos with yo-yo jam was coming out. Not exactly at the same time. But similar timeframe.
For any of the newer people on the forum that read that name and it doesn’t really mean anything to them, I’ll let you in on where the name came from.
In Polynesian folklore, there were stories about tiny evil creatures that would come out at night and terrorize the Islanders. I guess you could say Hawaiian gremlins of sorts.
…. The villagers called them the Menehune.
When my second yo-yo was coming out, it was to be named a MiniMo-2.
The MM2 And the Menehune were both Considered undersize yo-yos at the time.
I start thinking about that? And then all of a sudden I got a low-grade humorous brainstorm.
I told Dale, when we do the side caps, I don’t want the name to be MiniMo2. I want the name to be spelled MiniMotu.
Biologic was simple enough. When you say MiniMo…… 2, That’s just what it sounds like.
If you use a U at the end of the second syllable, and you say the name a little quicker and put a little force on the last syllable, it sounds like it could be the name of Rival gang of evil midgets. MiniMoTU!
A rivalry that never was between two groups that never were.
The end
All menehunes aren’t bad, if you see one they’re actually good luck
