not really, its pretty common. i call it the swing bind

you can also get a nice string slap noise if you get the technique right

Yes I’ve had that happen a few times it binds real nice and tight, I guess it’s just to add some flair haha

Similar to a rolling bind which you’ll see @AndreBoulay use in his tutorials.
