Is it easy to strip a yo-yo?

I’ve always wondered.

The length of the axle plays a large factor in how easy it will be to strip the yoyo. Shorter axles will tend to strip in a lesser amount of time compared to a longer one. Should you worry? Probably not. You most likely won’t strip the yoyo for a fair amount of time through regular use.

I haven’t stripped a yo-yo in my 5 years of throwing, if that’s any comfort!

Long axles= harder to strip. Why I like nipples on my yo-yos (look at the moose :eyes:)

Have never stripped one. Have had yoyos with threaded halves since the dawn of time (mid to late 1990s. )

The question is “is it easy to not strip a yo-yo”. And the answer is yes, it’s easy not to.

If you put the axle in crooked and try to tighten it then it’s easy to strip a yo-yo. Just be somewhat careful, give the half a counter-clockwise turn before tightening till you feel a little click sensation. Then close the yo-yo up. I’ve never stripped a yo-yo using this method.
