Alright, mark for calendars for July 19th at 3pm Pacific!
Two questions.
- What did it smell like.

- Can they become unresponsive?
Smells like pennies.
Yes but be careful haha. I’m including a “flying lemon bearing” with each. They make it unresponsive and quite a few folks with the protos expressed enjoying them that way. I don’t have the cleanest throws so I have taken some knuckle beatings that way. The testers went unresponsive with stock pads but replacing the stock pads with permatex would probably make your unresponsive enjoyment even greater.
This is how I play my prototype
Me too.
They look great! And im realllly looking forward to seeing the different patinas people get over time.
Ive gotta say, though, this thread was so cool to read through and see unfold from a joke to computer rendering, to actual physical yoyos in multiple different materials. And organically, from multiple members of the community coming together. Not to make money either, just because yoyo lol.
Had to actually tell me girlfriend about it and show her some replies here.
Ive been ranting about yoyo stuff and this forum and how cool it is to her a lot since i started recently. Had mentioned how awesome this community is but this was just a perfect example to explain that “good vibe” i got here was. Indeed, correct.
You guys rule! If more scenes were like this the world would be better for it. Rock on yoyo nerds!
I’ve still been enjoying mine as a tiny 0A responsive. Something about even just doing a simple Paddleball or Wimbledon on it is super satisfying. Mine’s also been developing a pretty fun patina. I personally like the aged look.
That Florida humidity really helps it move along quick. ![]()
My play on it has been with the normal MR85 with the thin string Andy sells too, love the synergy between the MR85, those pads and the thin string
Packaging is top notch makes the yoyo worth the price.
I’m just not into minis so this will be one I’m going to pass but I do wish you the best. If you ever make bigger ones Id be more interested
I made a full size version out of Delrin but the prototypes didn’t sell well. Probably because they were expensive to produce. (Prices are a little high but I’m still losing a little money on both the delrin proto and these copper minis). There is one full size Delrin proto left on my site still, unsold, also comes in a tree stump!
I did see that but for me I’m trying to stay away from those price ranges personally
I have some more frugally priced stuff coming in the next 1-2 months including a full sized responsive/unresponsive convertible that might be more your speed.
I was thinking of the Dirty Caramels, mostly since I don’t have the v2 Plumpy protos just yet (hopefully this week!) but Plumpy should be coming after the Caramels!
I’m a little slow to post here but I did warn you it was coming at least haha. We are live!
Got mine! Even took my eyes off the World Cup for 2 minutes to order ![]()
Can’t wait to see what the little guy is all about, this entire thread and story is one of the best examples of why yoyos and the community is the best!
Solid first day, sold about one third of the 40 unit run. Thank you everyone who ordered one (or two)! Really hope you enjoy them.
I packaged up all the orders that came in so far and should have them going out tomorrow!
