A Wasabi rerun is music to my ears

I remember all those yoyos as I had a friends which was obsessed with your brand, used to buy all the releases and I used to use all his yoyos on a daily basis lol
The Wasabi it is a legendary for me, really loved it a lot but never been able to afford it back then, now I am and that’s why I would love a run of them to remember such good memories with it and play with it again!

And please reopen the “magic shop” for the candy blast, best finishing existed in a yoyo honestly!

Ist doch Weihnachten nicht Fasching :joy:

I’ve been playing a Josy Ann a lot lately. Big diameter with a slim width and light weight is still so ridiculously comfortable to play. Almost zero kickback, so little resistance in movement when you’re playing, feels like butter on the string. And it’s stable and spins long enough to get through *most of your tricks without feeling like you need to baby the yoyo in play. Even the highwall is actually nice because it gives you that extra bit of feedback and control over the yoyo that a lot of light yoyos lack. That yoyo holds up ridiculously well.

*I’m not gonna fault a highwall for not being bad at off axis play and zoning lol

Excited to see if this is an update or a new design entirely, I like those specs a lot.

It‘s a new design - the Krapfen.

JA may see a remake in 2023.

After successfully reviving some of our older designs we felt it was time to unleash something new and fresh for the ILYY line-up. Going through our models we realized there was no full-sized, medium width entry.

Full-size yoyos with a slimmer profile below 40mm always feel special when throwing them around. They ooze some kind of easiness and relaxing energy that wider yoyos usually lack.

The new yoyo is finally ready: Krapfen

It is named after a beloved German pastry, a jelly-donut without a center hole. Why? Simply because everyone who tried a Krapfen falls in love with it.

For our entry into this range we wanted something very ILYY-like that encapsulates our design language and philosophy in terms of playing style and understatement. We thus went with a very comfortable organic shape that inherits some of the Lio’s mojo but adds its own aesthetic style. We also decided this new yoyo should have a fade anodization, never seen before on an ILYY, but with grace and class. The Krapfen combines a fresh design with known and loved ILYY-aesthetics.

Weight was kept fairly low for the Krapfen at 62g due to the more compact design. It feels just right when throwing. With its beefy rims and carefully placed mass, the Krapfen is a great performer with plenty of spin time and power while still keeping the great feeling of easiness alive. We noticed a surprising effect when giving the Krapfen a few hours of undivided attention. It feels like becoming a standard issue of a yoyo. Something that would sit in an institute of standards. A yoyo that is used to compare bearings, pads etc.

Specs:
Diameter: 56 mm
Width: 38 mm
Gap: 4 mm
Weight: 62 g
Bearing: C-Size
Response: 19 mm pad
Alloy: AL 7068-T6
Limitation: 40

We updated our branding of yoyos and moved the laser engraving from beneath the pads into the bearing groove. That way it is easier to see and identify a yoyo and production year.

Looks fantastic and really like the engraving. Subtle, classy, and useful.

Glad I waited for this. I know people (myself included) were asking for a Josy-Ann remake, but this seems even better. Very eager to get my hands on one.

@crackout hey, any plans on a new 2WEI run?

Not in 2023. At some later point in time, I believe so.

In 2012 we played around with a quite unique design for an under to mid-sized yoyo called the Phase. Eventually, we released a run of 30 yoyos in a cool soda blast grey that was unlike any finish we did at the time. After this limited run, no further Phase have been produced.

We decided to give this yoyo another go with slightly updated specs to reflect our design philosophy better. As an homage to the OG these 2023 Phase feature a very chalky blasted finish. We call the finish “Kreide”, German for chalk.

Specs:
Diameter: 51.4 mm
Width: 41 mm
Gap: 4 mm
Weight: 63.8 g
Bearing: C-Size
Response: 19 mm pad
Alloy: 7068-T6
Limitation: 34

If you want one, send me a PM.
