I like my yo-yos like I like my blood cells... (A Blood Cell, RBC, and Plasm Appreciation Thread)

Probably not what you are looking for, but I’m just vibing with the Plasm. Not really doing anything in particular.

That said, I did take a few minutes to learn pull start.

I am that way with some textures. Was sorting laundry and accidentally touched a microfiber rag when expecting cotton. Screamed a little lol.

Polyfill also feels like death. I have to wear gloves to handle it.

Fwiw, as someone who loves the RBC, the Plasm is just scaled up just ever so slightly

I should have a green one and a purple today to share comparisons

My b grades have arrived!

Those look like they would make nice half swaps.

I just got my package today with a green and purple.
The green certainly has a different hand-feel, and it is slightly tackier, but still pull-startable for certain (and Tape Measure).
The frosted ones are incredibly smooth, the green is just slightly less, but still wayyyy more manageable than I would have expected from a gloss look.

Wanted to update and let you know that i was able to work things out with the retailer. In the end I’ve got 2 B grades, but again that’s fine. Excited to see what color ways come if there’s another run in the future. Loving the feel of the Plasm. Nicely done!

My black b-grade doesn’t have the MK1/SW engraving on it, and it looks so clean without it. I love the engraving, but im not missing it at all

@AudreySickburn - How are you dying yours? Just tossing it in a bucket or RIT?

Just got my purp-b in the mail today, mine did have engravings.

I wonder if your non-engraved implies that someone is getting one with 2 engraved halves lol

That would actually be sick too to have both halves engraved
I just assumed since the halves were cracked they just didn’t bother engraving. Cool to know i just got an outlier

pur-bl?

I’m using the heated bed on one of my 3d printers to heat the vat of Rit to 94 degrees Celsius. I did not science the measurements, wipe the plasm down, or do anything I probably should have done.

The cabal was done after a couple hours. Here’s a shot of it.

The plasm took almost 20 hours to get a decent pink color. It eventually got a little condensation inside the caps and I have it drying right now in a filament dryer (hot air and desiccants)

You can see the condensation in these photos.

For anyone curious, who may have been a part of the Flying Lemon protos. The 4mm MR85 fits in the Plasm beautifully with the existing axle. If you want to push it a little more into the string-stack realm.
It Skin the Gerbils like a champ!

Those look great and pretty evenly colored

I had to keep flipping the halves every few hours because they float :joy:
