I played with these as a kid. In high school I got this bearing king from yo-yo guy or infinite illusions. I forgot how bad @$$ they are! A recent purchase of a YYF short circuit reminded me I still have these things in a box.

man I’ve been fighting the urge to get one recently. they look fun but I’m trying to retain some semblance of focus hahahaha famous last words…
Next club meet where Tom Connolly comes in going to be patient and learn to throw a spin top. I have a bunch of them from @Slestak75 for the club that get pulled out every month to teach kids or adults that are interested but it’s about time I learn myself instead of relying on others to do it.
I love it!
Absolutely! It’s so much fun. Obviously a skill, so it takes some practice. But man it’s so satisfying to feel that top roll down the string slowly. Then Blamo! It’s upright!!
It’s a Trompos Space, Jupiter roller
I got the nice one taped up. Threw it several times after work but this string is too short so I’m throwing weird and it’s not helping that I’m not good. lol.
…
Yes definitely fun! Unless they fall in your swimming pool.
Oh dang lol
You guys all have me on the Boomerang. Everyone makes it look so simple and I feel like I’m doing the same as everyone else. I just can’t get it to go where I want. Either it goes straight up in the air, or flying behind me. I’ll get it one day. Until then… the Skyrocket works just fine.
Maybe you are throwing too hard? Try to move your arm from your shoulder, keeping your elbow and wrist straight. Make an arc, don’t chop at it, and pull back the same way.
Very true. I gotta work out my form. Been like 15-20 years. Plus I sucked then too. lol. My brother and I used to throw them into a frisbee because we saw a Dale Oliver video on how to wind and throw. He used a plate.
Yes exactly, on Skill Addicts its thought as just shoulder movement, elbow and wrist is stiff and that makes you do the straight line like you painted the red one. For me as a yoyo player it was so hard to get used to it, because yo-yo, lol. That’s a nice visualization you have here
