As I’m wandering the forum, I can’t help but notice that one of the threads that updates the most is the “What did you get in the mail?” thread.
The question begged here is in the title. The most I ever got in a month was 3, but I don’t think I’ll be getting another one for the rest of the year as I have no spare income as a missionary.
What about you? Do you just like burning a hole in your pocket or do you strive to be frugal with your spending money?
Some months its a lot some months its 0. Main thing is that I dont like most yoyos I buy so I sell them off. Usually sell it for a discount, so its like I got to try out the yoyo for 10 bucks.
Usually it averages out to 100bucks a month or less now that I have some disposable income.
The first month I started yoyoing… I think I ended up with around 35 or so? From Duncan’s, to MYY, to G2 and Motions. This is the second month and Im at around 12 with some vintage I was given, and I plan on around 4 for next month… I have a problem.
I don’t sell YoYo’s but I do give many away. I buy a bunch for club and that I generally don’t count because if I did my numbers would be drastically inflated. Generally I buy on average 1 YoYo a month sometimes less sometimes more
yk its funny because, I just got back into the hobby like a month and half ago after a 9 year hiatus and have acquired a whole new loved and cherished collection.
(admittedly, I was never on the forums before so a lot of yoyo lore was out of my realm of knowledge.)
I started from thinking “that luftverk brand has a nice aesthetic” based on an ad I randomly got one day and bought a plastic Fulvia after heavy contemplation. To think I would hesitate so much just to buy a yoyo.
Then I discovered YYE forums…
Now I have acquired about 12 different yoyos from trading and mainly buying used. I initially thought it would be a short term hyper fixation but then it ended up sticking and here I am on the forums everyday since my discovery of it.
interesting how it just went from me hesitating to even buy the one fulvia to me now searching for very specific yoyos. I never understood the joy of collecting things until now! I love my little collection and I’m very happy with it
(I swear I’m gonna stop buying yoyos, I just need like one more)

The hardest part is where I play 0A, 1A and am working on 5A, I can really only reduce so much. Especially for my responsive gear, the variety in responsive play is wild
