I’m thinking bout getting a dv888 but I dont know how long it sleeps
plenty long to any trick you can throw at it.
How long it sleeps is completely dependent on how well you can throw it 
I can get about 6 mins which is more than you and I need
1 hour and 37 minutes and 38 seconds.
The Dv888 is an awesome yoyo and the thick rims will give you very good sleep times, more than enough. The best time I have got with mine was 7 minutes 45 seconds.

It all depends on the player.
just as long as you can throw it.
If you are some random person that has never thrown a yo before, it will spin for about 1 second before hitting the floor and scratching the ano/metal.
I got mine to sleep for 2 min.
It depends on your throw.
also, does the DV888 do well with grinds?
Quite well. I really enjoy thumb grinding mine. A bit challenging with no lip, but very smooth.
