Both are great yoyos. The 2015 Genesis is worth every penny of its $45 price tag. I assume you mean the 2012 Genesis when you say original. Some specific changes between the 2012 Genesis and the 2015 Genesis is that the 2015 Genesis is lighter and with a slightly tweaked shape, I should say. The 2015 Genesis still plays pretty solid and maintains the stability of its namesake. I like mine a lot, as a long-time fan of the Genesis.

Which plays better is a tough question. I think the 2015 Genesis better meets the needs of the player in 2015.
The 2015 Genesis is definitely better, but they feel similar.
