Hey folks I have some throws that have annoying vibe on the string and nail
can you describe how would you fix that?
thanks to everybody

Depending on if it’s been dinged alot or not, for me atleast, vibe mostly comes from dirty bearings.
I have seen pads also cause some vibe, and bent axles, or as simple as the YoYo halves weren’t tightened down enough.
I would say clean the bearings, take a look at the pads, maybe flip the axle around, and once the halves are reassembled, the bearing is seated and all that, give it an extra little snug
make sure bimetal rims are fully secured and pressed down all the way (by stand on each half, or use something else to press the rim down if it is a reverse press rim)
check bearing seat to see if it was chewed up by bearing - 50% of modern yoyo have terrible bearing seat design (At-Design I look at you!!!) and self destruct from the grinding of unscrew/screw the halves
axle being bent is not likely, bimetal modern yoyo have too small of axle to bend
bad pads and bearing will cause string vibe, not fingernail metal vibe
the most likely is a bent yoyo itself. walls are so thin that if you sit or pressure on the yoyo it bends slightly. I know this to be true because I have bought 10+ VERY vibe/wobbly yoyo and I fix the vibe every time by un-bending the halves. you can use a measuring caliper to see what side of the yoyo is bent when it is screw together, and then put pressure to bend the other side. re-measure, rebend, 10 time until you have a perfectly smooth yoyo.
I bet money that if you measure the yoyo on either side, one side will be 0.2-0.5mm higher than the other
Ooo I never thought to use calipers to check for bend like that, great idea.
with no exaggeration I have fixed more than 10 un-playable yoyo with washing machine wobble like this (OG yyf genesis x2, ART 420, various YYR, beyond edge, oG yyf g5, etc)
one small bearing yyf genesis fell off my roof 2 story to pavement. unplayable wobble for 5+ year until I figure out this trick. it is glass smooth now, along with the rest I fix this way.
I call it: yoyo chiropractor (because you have to press your palm hard on the yoyo on a table or the floor to bend it back)
I 3D print alignment tools for bimetals to reseat everything again
i also heard you could put them on a soft surface like carpet or something and step on em evenly and carefully, with the axle out of course and maybe something between ur foot and nice shiny yoyo haha
i actually did this to a vibey toru .99 and it worked
You got one for a Brass Exia? Just in case lol
I don’t think I’ve made any alignment tools for inner ring bimetals. If you end up needing one shoot me a dm and we can work out the engineering details.
