I just received an Empathy/Yoyorecreation Empty (POM). Super excited as it reminds me of dark magic ii and i love the clean aesthetic. However, all I can feel is lots of vibes and the bearing is louder than I’ve seen from yoyorecreation. Feels like something is wrong with the bearing and I may end up switching it out to troubleshoot. Is anyone getting the same thing? Any help on troubleshooting or did I just get unlucky with a bad quality control?
It ‘sounds’ (pun intended) like you got a bad bearing.
It’s been a long time since I’ve had a bad bearing. Does it really cause that much vibe if bad? Its as if I had a terrible throw and it’s shaking and can’t even out
not intended, likely if it’s vibing that much the bearing isn’t the issue and rather QC, i’d see if both of the caps are seated properly and if not reach out to where ya bought it from
Why don’t you just try a new one? I’d understand this post if it were something difficult to test yourself but c’mon man.
But anyways if the yoyo is pulsating it is unlikely to be the bearing, if it’s just vibe you feel on the string then it probably is.
As others said, the vibe is likely QC. I will say capped yoyos tend to exacerbate bearing noise, so a loud bearing will be made even louder.
I’d have to see a video of the vibe but a bearing can definitely cause vibe, when my bearings are dirty they play a lot less smooth and vibey. It’s also very common for new yoyos bearings to go responsive/get scratchy.
As someone who owns A LOT of capped yoyos, like frad said, make sure the caps are fully seated.
Also, caps amplify any noise, especially on plastics, it’s one of the things I love about them.
Check the axle, check the bearing. Lots of things can happen in shipping once the yoyo has left QC.
Pulsating is probably a better description. While noisy, it’s manageable just surprised this is the loudest yoyorecreation bearing I’ve come across. I couldn’t find my spare bearings, didn’t want to pull a seated functional bearing out of another throw, and was calling it a night when I posted this to see if others have seen or have this problem. I didn’t want to do anything unnecessary first if I needed to contact the seller and send back if this is a QC problem.
Try cleaning it, the bearing is probably fine just dirty.
