From what I understand, hubstacks have their own bearings, so they don’t stop the yo-yo from spinning. I don’t have a hubstacked yo-yo, though, so maybe someone with first-hand experience can explain this.

They do have there own bearings, where the stack rests on, so you can grap it, and the yoyo continues spinning around it. You can also change the axis of the yoyo.
