Here's something you don't see every day

Looky what I found:

Never seen a magnetic spin top before. Hopefully moose and squirrel…uh, goldfish can teach me all about it.

Haaa, that’s pretty cool - and glow in the dark!

Icing on the cake, my friend. Like any other child of the 80s, I’m a sucker for glow in the dark stuff.

Updates! So, the magnetic part of the top is the tip on the crown; the string comes with a steel ring instead of a button (I replaced it with a keyring to fit my giant adult hands):

According to the included book, you use this ring/magnetic combo to do all sorts of pickup and wire tricks. I have yet to attempt them (it was late last night when I took these pics!)

Glow effect looks great in person…not so great with night mode on my phone:

How does the quality feel. Think it would break if you threw it?

Now that is something completely different.

Fun find! I have one of these that I purchased over 20 years ago. It’s never really clicked with me though. Fun to mess around with, but it’s very light. Similar to a Duncan Imperial plastic spin top.

Mine was packaged individually and didn’t come with a book, unfortunately!

Yeah, he said it. Very close to a Duncan Imperial. Light, but fun to throw. Just don’t sail it into any nearby walls.

Going to try some of the magnetic tricks tonight to see if they even work!
