Help me pick a yoyo!

Okay, so I am TRYING not to buy yoyos in 2025, or reaaaallly limit myself.

That said, i have a few throws I low key think I really want. Any thoughts on which one if these I should consider for a yoyo exception?

  1. Dressel Designs Oasis
  2. Markmont Classic
  3. Markmont Classic Magnum Opus
  4. Hold out strong for whatever One Drop does with the Warlock…

CLYW CAMPFIRE

This is a complete sentence.

What makes it special?

To me it looks, like the Oasis would be the most interesting choice, but I can only loosely judge it by looks and spec-sheet.

All of them you listed minus the warlock I do not know that throw.
Oasis is magnificent, you get a great smooth throw that is so choice. Has a very special sound when the string hits the side and when binding… worth every penny.
Markmont Classic and Opus are must have classic organic throws of different weights, and great players to boot.

It’s kind of small, but heavy. making it sort of floaty but also kind of dense? the shape is awesome too, it feels great to throw and catch, the surface is great for grinds too, if you’re skilled enough it does thumb grinds very well.

I have an Oasis I can sell you, but I’ll be taking my MC and Unholy MCMO to the grave. So you should probably get an MCMO.

Ill think on tbe Oasis. But, which do you recommend the Classic or Magnum Opus?

Thats probably tbe hardest part to figure out

Why are you limiting yourself to these yo-yos? I think there are MUCH better choices available.

Im just trying to not buy a bunch more yoyos next year so I can focus on the ones I already have. I have a bunch of yoyos less than a year old.

The Markmonts really call to me though so I might look to grab one if I can. Oasis is in the mix just because it looks exelent and I believe there will be a new run sooner or later.

Anything in particular you recommend before I cut myself off?

I agree with this statement! It is a very special choice but I get to a point where it’s too loud on the string for me. Oasis just rings out constantly! Sometimes I just prefer a quiet throw session and oasis can’t fill that need.

I would recommend MC or MCMO. I’ve only played Magnum Opus and it is indeed one you’ll want to hold on to forever.

  1. 10 ball, lubed properly, smooth and quite.
  2. SE’s of so many weight variations and shapes. Instead of buying yoyos, you could focus on collection these.
  3. Many many color options for both the yo-yo, SE and string.

I might recommend a clear version as those dings and dents will just blend into the background and, any and all color SE / string with fit nicely.

You can quietly fit your mood with ease.
