Good 0a yoyo recommendation

You keep bringing up great options!

I’m a big fan of the Stroll and the Skip from @Ardeus!

How could I forget about Ardeus, yeah, that is top shelf quality, one of the best, at dirt cheap prices. Might take a little longer with shipping, but honestly, a Duncan Butterfly is fantastic for 0A (I suggest a fat poly at short length) until Ardeus comes in

You need a 4 mm wide d bearing for the workhorse to get the response into 0a territory fyi. The stock bearing is a little too semi responsive for consistent stalls.

Thanks for the love, good sirs. :growing_heart:

These are the ones I grab most often for 0A, in no particular order:

  • PLTPS
  • Workhorse
  • Plasm
  • Butterfly
  • Duncan Wheels with the transaxle replaced with a slim spec C
  • Ed Davidson wood fixie
  • Various 3D printed options

I have a feeling I’d love Spinworthy for 0A, the Knack in particular, but haven’t managed to get one for myself just yet.

@AudreySickburn @Slestak75 you are both correct and misspoke in my earlier comment. I swapped out the bearing in my workhorse to 4mm flat not a 3mm. The bearing that came in mine when I got it second hand was a 5mm concave.

@MinerJ is a slim C a direct drop into a Wheels or does it need some kind of spacer?

It’s a direct drop in for the current version of the Wheels. It would benefit from some very thin spacers to widen the gap slightly, but unfortunately the gap between the outer bearing race and the yoyo body is a bit too large, so doing this causes the string to occasionally slip off the bearing and get stuck (especially if you’ve sanded the starburst down a bit).
