Gan 356i Smart Cube

I received some gift cards for Christmas, and I’ve been spending too much time looking at Smart Cubes.

The front runner for me is:

https://www.speedcubestore.com/product/gan-356-i/

It seems like the general consensus is that the cubes are good, but the apps leave a lot to be desired.

Part of me thinks I should wait for the next and probably cheaper generation, but if the cubes are solid then shouldn’t the software catch up? I think ideally the cubes would become universal controllers that you could sync up to 3rd party software.

Anybody have any thoughts?

Here are the other 2 I’ve found:

same! how many cubes do you have? and what’s you’re favorite event?

Probably like eight or nine. I’ve never been to a cube event except for a very small one I held.

usually “event” means like, what is you’re favorite cube, or what “event” do you always compete in?

so when i said “what’s your favorite event?” i meant what is your favorite cube to solve?

Oh probably the 2x2. I used have a 2x2x4 and it was pretty fun but it broke.

I have no idea how people can solve cubes so freaking quickly!

My new best is 1min 14sec…but I watch people on youtube doing sub 20sec and it’s mind boggling.

lol I’m still using my name brand Rubik’s that I got for $3.50 on amazon.
