Found my old Tom Kuhn Flying Camel! Looking for some parts

Hello All…

Doing some cleaning/organizing this week and came across my old favorite childhood toy, my Tom Kuhn 3 in 1 Flying Camel… It has to be 40 years old at this point. I’m trying to find a source to purchase a new wooden axel for it it as well as string… I found a Tom Kuhn website, but it seems largely unreactive, not sure if anyone is on the other end at this point…

Any suggestions would be great! Thanks very much in advance!

Most any string will do. My preference is either 100% cotton or 50/50 cotton/poly. Nylon or 100% poly don’t work well for me. The axle will be a bit harder to come by.

Any 100% cotton string will work well. I’d stay away from the non-cotton or blended strings. A type-8 string or type-6 will work fine for a Tom Kuhn.

Spare axles aren’t too hard to find. There are a few new-in-box No Jives on eBay right now for around $35 that will have extra axles. Otherwise I have a few extras. Send me a PM.

Awesome… Thank you for the suggestions on the string… Sounds like 100 percent cotton will be the way to “Fly”!

Thank you for the suggestion Chris! PM on the way!

(Edit… won’t let me send a PM… because I’m a noob!)
