Fixed tips for Duncan

I’d really like to source for fixed tips.
I caused a hard landing, and broke the fixed tip on my BK . I have since installed one of the bearing tips.

So just to be clear, did you have a rip cord fixed tip and convert it?
You can make a bearing king a fixes tip, but you have to remove the bottom bearing, in this top both are removed. The bearing tip goes through and is held with a tiny O ring above the upper bearing. The fixed tip has a round base the size of the lower bearing and squeezes in with a rectangular section and O ring.
Did you tape your crown/base seam? It will crack if you don’t.

As a kid I never knew about taping the crown. Mine has been broken for a long time. It’s glued on and permanently affixed. But that tape idea would have saved me long ago :joy:
I think I used gorilla glue. Ugly but still works great.

It’s something that all the spin top players knew, but was never changed on the design. I remember seeing HTBaP II and thinking , wow, I wan to learn that! Got a RipCord and a Bearing King, took out the RC, followed the instructions🙄 and threw it down in a parking lot and it busted into pieces.
So I carefully put the BK away and started looking for help, found the spin top forum on ta0’s website, and Chris Neff explained all the stuff to do to make them playable.
For many years now, the spin top players in North America are just few and far between. Folks my parents age used to throw tops, but yo-yos seem to have pretty much replaced them since the 50s.
