Fixed axle February withdrawal symptoms anyone?

It’s been a few days and it feels like FAF changed something in my brain. I’m having trouble landing some of the tricks I thought I’d learned during that month and it also feels like I took a big step backward in my unresponsive skill. Hopefully I’ll get back to comfort and fun soon, but atm I’m feeling pretty clumsy.

It took me a couple days this year and last year to get back into flowing a lot of elements together without stopping. Since fixie play for me is usually heavy on stalls and maybe regens, moving to non-stop spin times (relatively) takes an adjustment. I usually keep my throw time at a good 50/50 between unresponsive and fixed though so YMMV.

Thanks. I’m hoping to keep it somewhere around a third of my throw time. Agreed… stalling is definitely the biggest adjustment when I switch as well.

i couldn’t commit to throwing only fixed axle during feb ( mostly fixed but still threw unresponsive/bearings a bit to break up the fixed grind), but i’m ready to work on unresponsive tricks for a while.

I wasn’t completely fixed, but it was probably 100% most days. My daily throw time in general went up a lot because I was trying to learn at least a couple (sometimes four) tricks a week, rather than one or two a month I usually do. That was probably the bigger factor.

I was completely fixed too, tbh it was the most inspired I’ve been to practice and learn!
