I feel like I already did this…
Here was my model. I’m not sure if it’s representative. I’ll probably print one today and compare.
Edit: Wow, that one is alarmingly off. Do not use.
Shot in the dark here. I’ve scoured the internet trying to get a catchy air kendama for MONTHS and you seem to be my last bet. I’m in Canada, is there any chance you’ve still got any left? I wouldn’t even mind a used one I just need the dama I loved as a kid again. Please get back to me with a way we can contact further, thanks so much!
Gonna definitely grab a fireball next YYE order. Haven’t had a new fresh one in forever.
I wish yomega would bring back the Saber Wing!
Yeah I was looking at my fireball when I got my new raiders and it’s cracked pretty good
spectrum is on my list too
anyone tried these?
what the build quality like
more specifically the raiders/fireballs
Raiders haven’t changed since I was a kid over 30 years ago maybe they are a slightly different plastic but for the most part the old 90s one I have ex from 2000s and new one I just got are more or less same same minus the spaced lot I used. One nylon spacer and the OG metal one and shorter axle.
Fireball I assume is same old plastic transaxle spool. For me it’s nostalgia as the Raider was my first real YoYo and my return to the hobby as an adult.
I noticed minor Raider differences when I got a 2022 Raider recently off Amazon and a 2011 Raider from ebay (also recently):
-
The spacers on the 2022 Raiders are about a millimeter bigger than the old ones. That makes it nasty to take out. I saw other people complain on forums/reviews about the same thing. The trick that I saw about taking them out (and which worked for me) was putting the yoyo in the freezer for about 30 minutes to let the plastic contract (I really should have done it for an hour). I used tweezers to work the spacers out while it was cold. Maybe Yomega went back to the ‘old’ sized spacers with the latest batch, I don’t know why they would bother switching spacer sizes in the first place.
-
The 2022 Raider came with nice bleached white strings, maybe polyester?
-
The 2022 Raider has raised lettering on the rim that say ‘MADE IN CHINA’. Not a big deal to me, but I saw a complaint specifically about that on Amazon haha. And the 2011 Raider I have does not have the raised printing, it is smooth all around.
I’m not really that old, lm only 20 so lve only experienced yomegas around the 2010s but the raiders compared to the new ones l find the gap is quite a bit wider compared to the older ones but the fireballs seem pretty much the same but still a bit wide for looping for my taste, both are still the same easy to crack plastic from over tightening, over all l like the fire balls a lot more compared to the new raiders as the 2 new raiders l’ve bought within the last 2 years are unresponsive due to there wide gap
Oh and plus the raider spacers are ridiculously hard to get out like there pressed in almost compared to my old raider where the spacers freely come out
reason why i ask is because yomegas are 1 the most copied yoyos by plastic yoyo manufacturers
so they are all slightly different from each other weather it being the cad is changed or by manufacturer.
ehem AULDEY ehem
Your right the raised text is odd. I don’t like it.
I’m using a mod kit so I got mine dialed in well.
