Has anyone here ever done a CAD model for a hubstack yoyo?
I do yoyo performances that sometimes include fire - at the moment I have a setup where I’ve modified a MagicYoyo N11 by attaching kevlar wick to the inside of the cup then soaking it in fuel and setting that alight, but it goes out very quickly because the RPMs are so high. A good solution to this problem I think (as the old Efreet Fire did) is to use metal hubstacks, but as far as I can tell all the hubstacks on the market at the moment are plastic. In any case, I’d like to develop a prototype so it can include custom hubstacks, so you could use different attachments with different shapes to create different patterns. I haven’t done much CAD design before but am eager to learn, but if anyone has already done something in this direction I’d be keen to hear about it and would rather not re-invent the wheel, thanks
You’ll put your eye out
For anyone interested on the fifth slide of this post is some footage of a first attempt doing 3A with the current fire setup: @yoyo_bambo on Instagram: "Light painting with LED and fire yo-yos, plus some dark footage of a first run with two fire yo-yos at the same time 🪀🔥🤙 📷: @haseeb.riaz99"
Can we see said fire yoyo?
@captrogers See the above post, or this one for the very first runs with single yoyo, this was using an insufficiently volatile fuel so it goes out even faster than it does currently, but you can still see the fire-vortex effect briefly: @yoyo_bambo on Instagram: "Fire yoyo WIP 🪀🔥 📷: ev"
I do have a hubstack model I made and have 3d printed some hubstacks with it. It’s okay, it does the job but it’s honestly a little off, it’s maybe 95% there, just not quite perfect.
I’m happy to provide the file if you dm me but I am not responsible for any fire related injuries or lawsuits from racist YYF executives . Also please do keep in mind the files imperfect nature when applying it to flames
That looks sick. I imagine the yoyo gets hot quick
Are you looking for cad files of the hubstack post or of hubstacks themselves?
