So, contradicting everybody earlier in this thread
New-age CLYW makes some of the best out-of-factory anodization in the modern era. 10/10 grinds, colors that are bright and vibrant, just stunning work all around.
Old age CLYW Peaks have some of my favorites, see the fire and earth swirls. Custom painted peaks from Levi himself also have some of my favorite art on yoyos. Things like Left Behind, the Lightning Peak, Black with Gold Lightning, etc.
In particular though;
The Blue Lagoon colorway from iYoYo is lovely.
oops, sorry, I only see now (after 11 years! ), for the record, the Sumo Arlecchino (beautiful!) is not an anodization but a shrink cover in printable sheet
EDIT
soon, I will post detailed photos, more than anything else to make it clear to those who have never been able to see one in real life, what the American anodizers were able to do in 2010! (Gruntbull, I think …). I think I can say, without fear of being proven wrong, that the rest of the world was dreaming of things like that at the time !!! (in Italy, speaking of anodizations, we still dream of them today!)
hello everyone and sorry for the delay, as mentioned above, I put some detail photos of the Grizzly Bear Clown Town, they give the idea while not giving justice to the real beauty of its coloring. I specify that the yoyo is immaculate, without the slightest damage, so everything you see in the photos is part of the anodizing …
Now, I don’t know if it was intentional or causal and maybe it could also have served as inspiration for the future anodizing of Caribou but in this yoyo, there is everything that the company had done and would have done in the future … . splash, acid wash, maple drip, sperkle, etc …
