I’m thinking of dry lubing some of my bearings but what is deshielding and how often should you do it?
When you remove the shields off the bearing, and I always do it to my bearings since it easier to clean and put Lube In it

You have to deshield in order to lube.
And for dry lube you will need: Acetone and when you put some in, PUT IN A TINY AMOUNT. To much and you have to clean it in acetone and try again.
To deshield, get a pin and pry off the C-clip. It’s a small C that goes all around the inside of the bearing.
It stops at one point, pry it out with the pin.
