Drop in the bucket

I understand how you wrap it around your thumb and pointer fingers, but when i go to grab the string i cannot pull it more than 1 or 2 inches. Any help?

I usually have to work it back, meaning pull your middle finger and then pull your other finger and keep working it. Or you can swing the yoyo and while it is in the air with slack that is when you pull it fast. However that is a great way to get some bad string burn if you arent careful
