Well I collect antique yoyos as well as high end ones for throwing. And i have been wondering, “DOes anyone else do this?”
So I have about 20 antique ones including 2 packs of 10 strings that say 5 cents on them and have the strings in perfect condition from late 40’s early 50’s. I also have some rare, good condition antique ones that are expensive I am told. By the way I am only 12 but my grandma and grandpa have 3 antique stores and I bgo with them and shop with them or they will buy me yoyos when the see them at antique malls, auctions etc.
Sadly, I used to own some of those first hand. Some were lost, some are somewhere at my mother’s house and some ended up in the crotchety ole’ teachers desk…
mr. yoyo trader is a pretty big collector. haven’t heard from him in a while though
then there’s of course lucky and his ridiculously amazing enormous collection.
I really don’t have much interest in collecting antique yoyos unless what I have now is still working when I get old enough for them(and maybe myself0 can be considerd antiques.
I kind of wish my first yoyo didn’t get taken away. Got it in 1978. Once the string broke and was no longer salvageable, the toy was ruled broken by my parents and went away.
