Do you want to work for HSPIN ?

When I was 17 and was adoring Tom Kuhn yoyos so much that I wanted to put their logo on all my shorts and shirts, I would have given anything to be able to work for them.

Today there is HSPIN, I am very keen on working with more talented people to make HSPIN an even better yoyo maker.

Reminder: the HSPIN NETWORK is a platform for trusted individuals to contribute to HSPIN with hands-on support. This is NOT only for competitors, but also for video makers (Gaberus, Plamek, Magl33to, Noel, Shinya etc.), designers (Jet, Krisgoat), prototype design contributors (Gaberus, Shpek, Magl33to, Samm, Shinya, Drew, Noel, Eric) online presence supporters (Lars) and so on.

After careful consideration, there are quite a few additional supporting roles that we would still want in order to be able to have experts do where experts are needed. Here are some of the exciting roles:

- Video editor
  - Yoyo video maker
  - HTML/PHP/Flash guru
  - Graphics artist
  - Fashion photographer
  - Writer
  - Translator (English into Japanese
  - CAD Expert
  - Local representative

If you are interested in applying, please send an email via this webpage’s contact form. We expect applicants to be professional and loyal in conduct, pleasant and reliable to work with and to have a positive track record in the yoyoing community. We value proactive taking of initiative, a problem solving attitude and commitment to deadlines.

If you are after making money, this is not the place. I personaly have not had a proper salary from HSPIN in the past 12 years of our existence. Hence reimbursement will be the same as for me: You can be paid in yoyos, prototypes, shirts, goods as available and appropriate, team dinners, contribution to some of the travel cost you will incur if we can afford it, free lodging if we have a team hotel room at a larger event and so on. I can personally write you letters of recommendations for future job search and university applications.

Any questions, let me know. I look forward to hearing from you!

I saw this thread and thought

“OMG first reply gets to work for HSpin”

Then I read the parts of what you can do for HSpin… Too bad I can only make bad videos.

Do u have to be older than 18??? If not I will become a local representative!

I really dont think youre going to find much more than a bunch of kids wanting free stuff here, but then again I could be wrong.

Well, if I had seen this a few months ago I would have JUMPED upon the opportunity. But now, seeing as my dad’s friend and I are working on a yoyo, I think I’m booked up. But I am a prime example of an innovative kid (I’m 14) who is eager to help out the yoyoing community. I think this is a great idea for anyone who knows a little about a CAD designing software and would like to try their hand at making yoyos  good luck

I would love to be a Local Rep or a Fashion Photographer, The Rep probably won’t work since Noel is in Indy and That only 30 min. away from me.I going to take some Pics of my Envy 64 Right now.

Friends,

A few updates on the above. Thank you very much for all the interest so far!

  1. To help me get back to you fast, please use our online contact form,
which routes your mail the right way:
    http://www.hspin.com/webpage/?q=contact
Please do not email me, or PM me or mail me via FB - that would make it
    impossible for me to track.

  • “Application”: I don’t want to use this word. Obviously I am interested in
seeing examples of your work if you want to help with graphic or video work.
That is just because I receive dozends of such support requests a year, many
of which aren’t good enough. So I need to see you’re equal to or better than
the talents that are contributing today.
  • That said, I don’t want you to feel you have to “formally apply” for a
role of a competitor, or local supporter. If you’re reliable and
enthusiastic, you shouldn’t have to jump through hoops. I know other makers
ask for applications for these roles, but I don’t think that makes sense in
    all cases.
  1. There is no formal age limit. If you want to be influencial, and
contribute effectively, a minimum level of maturity and professional conduct
is required obviously. If you think you have something to offer, we should
    talk!

Last: I am thrilled about all this excitement. Last night, I was meeting
with Corli, our latest member, and we discussed all of these roles and how
she could and would want to help. I was very happy to see how excited she
was after our chat, and with the above search for talent, I hope to share
this excitement with more of you.

Thanks for all the support,
