JS is 2 grams lighter than GTR, and hub is protruding.
What’s the difference when playing this?
I own both and have for awhile, and they’re my two fav bimetals, so I’m pretty familiar with the differences in feel.
At the end of the day, the biggest thing is that the GTR is more easily controlled due to the increased weight. While the JS feels like a more refined/better yoyo, its reduced weight makes it just a touch harder to control when going faster. The GTR keeps you grounded, basically. A few Duncan team members have told me this, and I’ve found it so true in my own experience as well, even though I have a fraction of their ability lol.
GTR has a more solid feeling overall, whereas JS is more floaty and nimble. The hand feel of the JS is better IMO, and the protruding hub doesn’t make a huge difference if you care about fingerspins.
