My “Back in Day” was 88-89 in the 8th grade.
It was a crappy Duncan Imperial. No battles, just friends learning tricks.
This thread made me think about those times. We thought we were cool when Roses and Maxway’s started carrying those jeweled Duncan.
I remembered my first trade. Can’t remember what I gave up but I got a Duncan MelYo Dee. It was blue and wow was it junk thinking about now.

My family learned how to yoyo on Spintastic wood axle Technics in our yoyo club led by Val herself, late 90’s. My son ran for 4th grade class President. On speech day, he stepped up on the stage, did a short yoyo routine, then said his name. He won by a landslide.
