Current top 5

I’ve finally gotten enough new stuff that it seems to warrant a current top 5 update.

Grail
7068 Batsquatch
OG 3rd run Peak
Markmont Classic Magnum Opus
Quail

Not ordered by favorites. But yes, I probably have favorites here (depending on the day  ). All organics because that’s what I like to play.

The Grail and Peak are absolute classics for me.

After I dialed in the Batsquatch response and bearing I constantly reached for it, as the light weight coupled with bimetal weight distribution feels pretty special in an organic.

The MCMO is the new kid on the block for me but I can’t stop playing it - it is perfect in its own way like the Grail and Peak. Disclosure: I bought a concave for the MCMO thinking I’d want to swap out the flat 10-ball but no, it is amazing right out of the box.

The Quail is the wild card here and, like the Batsquatch, it brings something special to the table, in this case with its small A bearing giving a super tight response. The Quail took some playing to break in, but once the response smoothed out, it became a yoyo to test out my technique and smoothness because it lets me know just how sloppy I am.

Well, since you are to blame for my Chief and Peak addiction, it’s more of a reflection than a game of snap.

Does remind me of some of my favourite lyrics:
Ask if I am mouse or man
The mirror squeaked, away I ran
He’ll murder me in time for his tea

That 1st run Peak is rather intimidating.

It’s fun to compare the Peak’s. You can really see the depth and quality of the Gruntbull anodisation on yours, compared to the almost watercolour effect that Pioneer did on the 1st run.

There’s something quite fetching about Gruntbull Peaks. I snapped this Golden Nugget just now as it does a good job of showing that texture and depth on the bottom cup.

Anyway, I could wax lyrical on Peak’s all day but you do have some great throws there.

I just tried so hard to make a top 5 out of all my throws and just can’t do it. It all depends on the day really. I could do a top 10…but not a top 5

Amazing! I keep swapping the bearing and either way I have no real winner :upside_down_face:

Some beautiful throws in there!

If you don’t have a Freyja you really should consider buying a Freyja. Also the Kappa is pretty good.

Funny that you mention it… the 10-ball in my MCMO just became too noisy and some V4M + air blasts didn’t clear it up, sadly. So now there’s a quiet pixel bearing in the MCMO and it’s working out just fine.
