From an older Spin Gadget I had, caps came off with a suction cup.
These Unknown Caps would be Fire ![]()
Current setup is no setup. If anyone is looking to offload their gravity, I’m on the hunt for one
Best of luck. Hope you get one.

Sorry to resurrect such an old thread, but looking for some advice.
I just procured this RSO gravity on the bst and struggling to get the caps out, any tips?
I tried to push the side effect down on an open pad and the axle just made a hole and pushed through the pages, so I flipped the yoyo half over, and tried to push it down that way, I placed my wallet between my palm and the axle and pushed heavily on it but it didn’t budge, almost made a hole in the leather wallet.
Even if I get the side caps off the side effects didn’t budge at all.
Any tips on dealing with this would be appreciated, thanks!
Ps great throw ![]()
I don’t own this yo-yo, but I seem to remember the gravity coming with a side-effect pushing tool that threaded into the side effects and allow you to push it into the cap to remove them.
Yes it did, here it is in the foreground of the image:
No, unfortunately this didn’t come with it. I knew when I was buying it that some of the extras were missing, got a great deal on it tho. Thanks for responding, I’ll see if I can fashion something similar.
Edit: maybe I can use another side efects that I have to push them out.
I’ve done this with stubborn SEs in general, and to remove caps on the American Metal Spingadget.
I definitely had the impression that cap damage was a risk, but I didn’t have an issue.
The Asoras are another series of SE yo-yos that support caps. You may find more ideas searching the forum for posts on them.
Thanks, I’ll try the SE way and will chack that other thread for Ideas. I’m hoping that ince the caps are off the SE might be easier to remove although I can’t really imagine the caps are the problem. Will report back for posterity.
I misread and thought getting the caps off was the issue. If it is just stuck SEs, threading on the other half is the next thing I would try.
Actually both is the issue.. I figured pushing the se through as normal would also pop the caps off but neither are budging.
You just need to screw on another SE, push the one in the yoyo out using a table (maybe with a mouse pad or something that isn’t too soft but offers protection), and then unscrew the SEs slightly so that there’s enough width, and use the table to push the cap out. This worked with my Ari, just make sure the SEs are aligned with the holes to avoid damage.
Thanks. Will try this
Or Compressed Air, not too much or the SE will Crack the Cap
Thanks folks for the replies. I had a chance to fiddle around a bit a d the side effects aren’t stuck at all, I can move the slightly but the caps won’t budge.
It seems like they’d have to let go with enough force, but there is a chance of damaging the caps. If not, or if they deform but still won’t come off, there are further options for destructive removal.
Before any of that, maybe try freezing everything for various intervals to see if the plastic will shrink enough to loosen?
Or pour boiling water onto the face of the cap to see if softening the plastic helps? (Edit: a hair dryer or heat gun could also work in this regard)
Great ideas, will try the freezer first. I’d prefer to save the caps if I can. But it’s likely I’ll prefer the throw without them, I’m not a fan of caps and I reckon I’d prefer the weight without them so if I have to brrak them to get them out then I will. Thanks for helping me figure this out.. ![]()
