Thank you, I never you could do that.

@yoyodoc what you wrote summed up what I have been thinking about all this.

Original and edited take are pretty much how I feel here.

Funny I had one, drove it for a week and returned it. Probably the worst car I ever had, wanted to love it but just couldn’t

Let’s throw some fuel on the fire. Here’s some public instances of Hironori and Steve being mentioned in the same sentence. The earliest one I can find is from yoyodoc back in 2009 (this one is mostly for the memes to be clear, but it does come from a reputable source):

(archive link: YoYo Discussion forum - Thoughts on the Severe - YoYoNation.com)

Here’s another one from 2014:

(link: ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■ [Japan/USA] on Instagram: "Hironori Mii and Steve Brown #yoyomaster #nationalyoyomaster #44clash #yokohama #baysideyokohama #yoyonews #clyw")

2016 (from an askfm archive):

Also the Klondike’s inspiration of (pulled from the description on many storefronts):
“CLYW has always had a great relationship with National Yo-Yo Master Hironori Mii and the rest of the folks from Rewind.”

Definitely lots more instances thrown around that I have some vague memories of or have read other people discussing them, but lots of yoyo history gets deleted off the internet (RIP onedrop forums, there was some juice there).

I feel like the statement should have come out weeks ago, and at this point with how closely connected Steve/Hironori are I would have a hard time taking everything at face value.

Wonder why Taka hasn’t posted a statement, maybe translation issues for us?

He probably realized it was causing drama and decided to handle the situation differently.

Vibes I’m getting are that he got banned, got frustrated, made his post calling people out, and then realized what sort of a storm it was gonna cause (seeing fingers get pointed, steve getting the blame, etc.), and then decided to privately handle it without making it a bigger scene. We’ll probs get a double update from IYYF and Taka when its all resolved.

But who even is Taka and why should i care that he was banned??

this quote and a bunch around that area summarize it

Personally, I think you’re reading into this. When you’ve been around as Steve has, you’re bound to be closely connected to a lot of people in the community.

Sounds like conspiracy to me

Inventor of solo ham, runs spingear, been in the Yoyo scene for like over 20 years. You should care bc it seems like he was banned for no reasonable reason. Seems to me like it was an abuse of power and imo that shouldn’t be accepted and ignored by the Yoyo community.

Oh 100%. I just want to keep conversation moving since I want to see a statement. Even if the statement is literally just “lawyers are involved sorry”.

Plus who doesn’t love a good old fashioned conspiracy theory… (/s)

To be fair lawyers would suggest not even doing that much if involved…

Oh spingear! Yeah im looking forward to hearing the reasons for him being banned. They must be good for him to be removed.
