Compare Your Related Yo-Yos, Look Alikes, & Similar Shapes.

This thread is for comparing similar yo-yo shapes. I’ve taken several of these types of photos, so it’s about time they had their own thread.

Shutter vs. Shu-Ta by The TotalArtist, on Flickr

Octave 3 vs. Avant Garde AvantGarde by The TotalArtist, on Flickr

I’ll post some more up later. I think it’s fun looking at these.

Speeder & Speeder2

Phenomizm & Phenom Ti

Irony JPX & Irony JP 2013

Lastly, L5 & Triad: These 2 yoyos, although unrelated, happen to have the exact same dimensions of 55/43/66.

New VS Old Mini-Flea

2011 VS 2008 888

Mutant DNA VS 2011 888

If I find some more I have I’ll post them

^ Okay, in the meantime, here’s original H.O.T. and prototype Too H.O.T. by The TotalArtist, on Flickr

Okay, I might as well post up the original H.O.T., prototype TooH.O.T. (left) and First release TooH.O.T. (right). by The TotalArtist, on Flickr

These are all great TA

I find a PSG to look similar to all those Hots and Too Hots.

I have a Shutter and had an Aviator that look similar.

I think you’re on to something. My next comparison should be a PSG and a Too H.O.T.

Cyborg vs. Triumph (from the other thread) by The TotalArtist, on Flickr by The TotalArtist, on Flickr

^^ See, they do look alike

You are correct. But, while the shape is similar (suited for 3A), they play differently. Cyborg is more solid, Triumph is more floaty. Cyborg is more my speed.

I like the Cyborg a lot too. The shapes, however, is what I meant by the post I made.

We realize that, you were referring to the shape, not the play.

Here’s a new one…old Superstar and new Superstar. Photoed here are YoyoExpert Edition stacked and Pulsar Superstar. by The TotalArtist, on Flickr

Dang that Pulsar edition is gorgeous.

It’s crazy how wide the new Superstar is compared to the old one. At first I wasn’t really sure whether I liked it or not but as time has gone on I’m playing the new Superstar more and more.

^Yeah, I was shocked how much wider the new one is. And, I only realized the extent of the difference when I took the photo. I agree, the new Superstar plays great.

Well, Alpha Crash was advertised as based off the shape of the Berserker. So, Alpha Crash is sort of like a plastic Berserker. Here you go: by The TotalArtist, on Flickr

KINDesign - Telekinesis (og) and Telekinesis Neo
The Neo is the 3rd installment in this series. The 2nd, Evo, is a 69g hulk thing that for some reason had separate weight rings of the same material as the body. That one looks nothing like these two and doesnt even come in pink lol

Super G. vs. New Gentry Plastic Super G. (yet to be named). by The TotalArtist, on Flickr

Don’t have any pics, but the La Goutte and the HOT are strikingly similar in shape
