No hub issues for me. Couldn’t be happier.
Not everyone. But a lot of people.
People say they come out or don’t stay in fit.
Some duds out there I guess…
I only seen two or three posts about hub issues and tons of happy customers, but to be fair those few posts I’ve seen we’re address by David from OneDrop and the offer to fix was always made clear with not hassle or argument just plain “hey email me and we will get your square!”
I own a rally and will buy another when the red drops and I own a yeti I happen to enjoy both.
So the possible drawback to the rally is possible hub issues.
The drawbacks to the yeti are YYF Spacers and Vibe.
I don’t favor the stickers either. I like them, but they can peel off…
If you weren’t told these were stickers on the yeti you’d not know seriously and the spacers do suck, but the bearin is decent a little loud but nothing really bad.
My friend has a yeti that’s how I found out gosh…
Well maybe I was the only one that had a hard time believing they aren’t plastic inserts but stickers lol.
I have seen only a couple with hub issues, far far fewer than “a lot of people”.
It has been mentioned already but if there is an issue the guys at One Drop have offered to fix it quickly. I have heard many stories of how they help their customers replacing whole yoyos if there is an issue, on rare occasions doing so when they didn’t have to because it was the users fault.
The same can be said for the Yeti. Chris gives excellent customer service. When I got my Galactic Goose one side had flaws from where the laser misfired during etching. Left some white dots on the rim. I sent him a pic and asked him if it was normal, his response was to ask for my address and he sent me a new half. He didn’t even ask for the old one back.
Keep in mind all yoyos are susceptible to issues. They are all mass produced to so e degree so the law of averages says that a small fraction of them will have a slight flaw. That is true for all brands out there and really all manufactured items.
Definitely not. They’re textured, don’t show any signs of peeling, and feel very high quality. I genuinely thought it was a textured plastic like you, and people had been mistaken when they stated that they were stickers. I guess me and you may be the crazy ones!
One question: Is the bearing in this a normal CT, or a CTX? Mine was extremely quiet for a CT…
10 ball CT. Pretty sure that means it’s a CTX.
I swapped my ct bearing or Ctx with a YYe flat bearing and it plays smooth as hell!!
My regular bearing that came with my YoYo got stuck in the spacers tight, so I replaced them because the bearing became bad and used the replacement spacers. Now that bearing is horrible and once again the bearing is stuck tight in the spacers, and I don’t have anymore spacers for the YoYo. I tried freezing the metal, putting it in heat so the metal would expand, and throwing it against the ceiling and walls and they still haven’t came out. The Yeti is the BEST plastic yoyo ever and it’s really smooth ( With a good bearing ) and plays like a metal. I just hate that it has YYF spacers in them.
Did anyone else notice the Natural Grey Yetis on the Caribou Lodge Store?
To be honest I’d take a rally over a yeti any day. I think the yeti has/had too much hype and I’ve tried both, the rally is just plain better. I’m glad I didn’t stand in a line for 3 hrs at worlds to get one.
They were a small run if 50 it was an experimental plastic different then what the black was made from and shipped to the us was 75 per yeti vs the black which is well you know much cheaper.
And I hear they went faster then the black initial run on yoyoe.
Yeah, because they only dropped 10 that day
Has anyone tried tuning the vibe out of their yeti?
If someone puts one in my hands it’ll be dead smooth within 10 minutes.
Yup!! I got mine and it had a touch more vibe than your everage metal… So I messed with the axle some and finally what did it was just giving it a good tightening. It is not dead smooth but it is deff good for me…
Do we get it back???
