C3 DiBase polish job

After the blast we have the polish…

Nice!! Your work sure is getting better and better!

Question, when doing a polish, do you need to use 800 grit sandpaper?

Or can you go from 600 to 1500?

Thanks.

People are gonna say no way but this was done with 320 grit and dry. Tried something new and I am digging it.

Only 320?

That how high you went?

So do you think it is okay if I go from 600 to 1500?

For me I don’t really mess with anything over 800. When your spinning it and wet sanding the paper is just so thin it is more hassle than good.

The 320 I was using is after a wet sand to even things out. May sound odd to go from 800 wet to 320 dry but the 320 is not paper. Not a compound either.

Well, I tried to polish my Genesis, not soo good. :-\

Well maybe it is okay…

It looks satined. I’m not going to say anything bad about that. Satin is another method used to make the surface more grindable. You aren’t going to get a mirror finish though.

Well, it doesn’t grind well. :stuck_out_tongue:

Maybe I should try again?

I don’t know what I did to it. :-\

It looks, liney.

Did you use a polishing compound?

I’d bet some compound would bring that right up.

What type of compound should I use mothers?

Brasso? Or is that not a compound. :stuck_out_tongue:

I recommend Mothers but Brasso will work too.

Simichrome or Mother’s
