along with the rookie division you have a indie division. Indie division is for the players that aren’t sponsored and good but don’t have the confidence to go up against the so called “pros”

So which one is more for the people who want to enter the contest to get their feet wet. AKA I am not that great, and I’ve never entered a contest. Which one is for me, rookie or inde.

I’d do rookie. Indie you’re still somewhat competing with the sponsored people, but in an isolated way. If you know what I mean.
But if you are confident, you can with your skills you can probably do Indie.

There was some more info posted on “another forum” that isn’t reflected on the BLC site yet, so here you go in case you missed it:

In the past the day after BLC, the official SouthWest REgional Yoyo contest where the city helps us out and Bill DeBoiseblanc and Thad come into town to give us the official good word, the crew down at Sunshine Kites in Redondo would put on a day sun and yoyos. It’s a great balance event and a excuse to really make a full weekend of it all. Well this year they put on an event this past weekend instead.

So will BLC be a 1 day event?

NO!

I can’t say what just yet, but I just got off the phone with Ryan at Golden Apple and, well, let’s jsut say that there will be a day #2… oh yes, there will be.

And Golden Apple is maybe a mile from the first day’s venue, so you can get a room and hang out in Hollywood and be right by both places.

This will be freakin’ awesome! MOre details soon!

This year the BLC is wired. What does that mean? Well…

Day #1: We will have the SouthWest Regional yoyo contest. You have to place here to get to Nationals and how long will it take for you to know how you’re doing? Oh, about 30 seconds! We are building a sexy connected judging system that will be processing the scores in real-time so you will be seeing the placings as the contest is happening! Live projected scoreboard, updated after the judges enter their scores! Will it be awesome to watch people winning that fast? Will it be torture to feel the pain of losing so fast? Let’s find out.

Day #2: The People’s Contest: Return of the Prodigal Master. The wiredness continues! But this time it will be open to EVERYONE. And I mean EVERYONE IN THE WORLD who can stream a video. We’ll be setting up a net stream of the contest and putting the judges’ form ON-LINE. Which means YOU can sign up to judge the contest live via the internet. And the whole thing will be hosted by the amazing disappearing/reappearing STEVE BROWN! Live in front of the camera, here at the contest in Hollywood, not just chatting in a little window. That contest will be 1 division: “Yoyo”. Anything you can or want to do with a yoyo to impress the audience. Time limit is 1 song or until we cut you off, with a “Final” round of the top 3 coming up for an encore.

Details to come about the vid stream and logging in to be a remote-judge. But it will be on Golden Apple’s website and at yoyomafia.org/blc. But you can sign up now and upload music for both DAY #1 AND DAY #2! So do it.

Freestyle Divisions: Contestants that are sponsored by a manufacturer or shop are automatically in the “Sponsored” division. All other competitors are considered “Inde”. If a contestant has a record of competition and wants to compete in the “Sponsored” division, they can contact the organizer and ask to be bumped up.

Why would you want to bumped up, if you have a better chance of winning in Indie?
You still can get qualified/seeded to Nationals in Indie.
