I too like lightweight yoyos for chilled play for all those same reasons. When I started trying different yoyos I was under the impression heavier was generally considered to be more relaxed but overall, for me, I’ve found the opposite.
Then, if it’s time to turn up the speed lightweights do that with ease - I really like lightweight yoyos.
I have a couple bimetals now and there is a difference but it’s minimal. IMO the experience is not worth the price most “nice” bimetals are priced at.
That being said, I find undersized lightweight bimetal to be what I throw the most.
MMC with the lighter aluminum SEs is awesome.
