Hello, I plan to try and get a yoyo club near me going although I would need to get some yoyos and bulk string. Which do you think would be the best to get?

Bulk string, whatever is cheapest for a club. For real, if the goal is to give away string, give away 10 strings, and let them know you can give them move when they come back. With yoyos, durable, and responsive. My favorites are butterfly xts, yyf whip, yyf one, and a couple finger spin so that people can try the responsive DNA.

Obviously, if they like yoyo, and you know that because they’ve gotten a few refills of string from you, refer them to YYE to get better string after they get more string from you. In my experience, string is not going to make a beginner thrower better, repetition and practice is.

Yo you should definitely start up a club but you definitely don’t need yoyos and string to give away like that would be dope and help get new players into the hobby but idk everyone at my club shoutout Chicago yoyo club was into yoyo already.
I would hit up duncan and see if you can get a bulk deal on like some butterfly xts maybe like those are pretty cheap and that’s the yoyo that got me into yoyo. Or hit up yye and see if they can cut a deal on some snapbacks maybe (I think yye has some stuff to help people start clubs but idk?). Just get like whatever poly string is cheap like kitty or uh myy string is good and normal thickness. Maybe generic yye poly in normal thickness. Just avoid weird amazon brands you only see there bc some of those strings are terrible.

Email YYE. They gave me a discount on my club yo-yos at my school.
Here’s a thread where I asked about yo-yos to give away, for the most part, I give away butterfly XTs and Whips to random interested people in public. Very inexpensive, and great for their price. If I could do it again, I would consider these for club.
Henry is right, you don’t need to buy stuff to give away. I have a club at a school, and I have a small amount of funds to work with. I do think that giving away a cheap yoyo can be hit or miss, I don’t give them away at the school club because if kids buy their own, they take care of it and come back more often.

Yeah you def don’t need yoyos or string to give away to start a club. Most yoyo clubs just have a couple tables and people leave out cases of yoyos and people can just kinda try and use whatever (don’t bring anything you really care about though of course).
