how do u know if the bearing is dead ???
spin times will be drastically reduced, very loud noise, vibe and a general performance drop. why do you ask?

Take the bearing out and put it on the tip of a pencil. It should spin freely with a finger flick. If not, try cleaning and lubing and see how it comes out.
