BASECAMP:
Basecamp is one of the coolest collaborations we have seen from two of the most popular yo-yo companies to date – CLYW & YoYoFactory! Instead of collaborating on just one yo-yo, they decided to create a unique brand and release 3 entirely new designs. And the way they went about it is so much fun! Each company designed a yo-yo, but used the other company as the influence for the designs.
EXPEDITION:
CLYW designed and YoYoFactory influenced!
Right from first glance you can see some YoYoFactory characteristics in the design. There’s some Aviator 2, a little Shutter, and then CLYW mixed in their own flavor with some Orca notes. The end result is fantastic!

The large organic h-shape design of the Expedition maximizes rim weight and gives it an excellent stability and spin time in play. It has a pleasantly solid feel on the string without being overly heavy, and maintains plenty of maneuverability.
Expect to see this one popping up on stage a lot after its release. Fitted with Snow Tires and finished with a soft grind friendly surface this yo-yo is a pure performance player!
JACKKNIFE:
YoYoFactory designed and CLYW influenced!
Creating the Jackknife required a lot of back and forth, but YoYoFactory did an excellent job bringing out the CLYW side of this design. The profile feeds off of many of the more recent CLYW models and the internal cup fuses the CLYW signature inner ring with YoYoFactory’s latest fingerspin technology.

The rounded v-shape design of the Jackknife keeps this yo-yo fast, floaty and really fun in play. It has a relatively even weight distribution that provides a smooth feel on the string and excellent maneuverability in play even transitioning through off plane tricks.
The end result is a stand-out design that is an absolute blast to throw and if you like fingerspins you are definitely in for a treat with the Jackknife!
MOONSHINE:
Yo-yo is about having fun, and it’s hard to jam more fun into one yo-yo than Basecamp has managed to jam into the new Moonshine! The high walls and narrow profile make modern tricks a rewarding challenge and breathe some new life into your old school favorites! This is a modern classic that fuses the pocket friendly classic shape with a more modern weight distribution and performance.
