Hello everyone, would love to hear your thoughts on these. I am looking for a good competitive yoyo with stability and versatility for many styles of tricks
Hades is one of my favorite 1a yoyo of all time. Definitely top 3.
Its a tad larger and a bit heavier than most, but not too big or too heavy.
Collapsar is good if you want the weight but not the size increase.

What about competitiveness?
The reason to buy an Aster is if you really like Yuta. The reason to buy a Hades is if you want a yoyo that will actually spin for longer than anything else you own.
If you’re looking for something that would vaguely be described as “modern competitive 1A yoyo” then neither of these yoyos are a good choice.

I don’t compete.
Heavy throws are sometimes marketed as a learning tool, and I support that idea. I’ll attempt to explain why:
Due to weight and inertia, in order to get the yoyo moving at a particular speed, it will require more force per second than a lightweight yoyo would. It’s like “slowing time down” in a lot of ways, giving you more time to observe and learn. Not to mention it spins forever, giving you more attempts per throw.
Looking at it from the “tricks per minute” perspective, you need to balance spin time + weight with how fast you can switch from element to element in your routine to maximize score.

just for ppl’s clarification, do you mean competitive as in current comp meta, or are you using it as a catch all term to mean performance forward?
I wouldn’t say meta, more like a good yoyo which is suitable for competition use. Basically, versatility is what I am looking for
I do really like Yuta but for now I might just get an Anubis as it is in my budget rather than an ASTer
Those sound like two different qualities. Almost any yoyo could be used to win a competition; versatility is more complicated…
I ordered a Hades so this question will have to wait until I can buy either lol
