So beautiful. My saltwater setup has been empty for years. It saddens me but the position to set it up is just not there.

I had aquariums going for nearly 40 years and things have been too in motion to do it for a good 10 years now. One day. Hopefully. My baby girl has her tanks though.

It’s ok to take a hiatus every once in awhile!
I, too, have been an avid aquarist since childhood. This reef has already been moved once, and if I’m lucly, it’ll move once more. Only this time I hope to move it into a bigger container instead of a 30 minute drive away 
She just hit 6 years of age, though! Pretty good for a 20g dirty reef with no filter that we topped off by hand for the first 5 years and still dose by hand. Although, hand dosing is coming to an end soon, too, we just got a fancy doser. I just need to mount it, plumb it, and program it.
The future is now!!!

Recently moved and deconstructed my 100 gallon and 35 gallon tanks and set up this 55gallon tank instead. Took all the live plants from those and I am hoping the plant mass is high enough now that I won’t have to battle algae. Decided to go with a simple HoB filter this time because maintenance is so much easier than with the canister filters I had been using. Fish are a bunch of crazy looking guppies I got at a convention a while ago and one lone danio lol. The guppy fry probably have enough places to hide now that they might not get eaten. We will see lol. I need more fish but want to wait for another convention. I don’t like my lfs bc last time I got fish from them, they were sick and got all my healthy fish sick…pretty much nuked my tank.
It felt like my old 100g tank was cursed so I am hoping that this new set up will run smooth and maintenance will be simple and routine.
