I want to make some unresponsive wooden yoyos. Anywhere I can buy metal guts for this?
You can try contacting a yo-yo manufacturer that already makes the parts. I believe A-RT uses guts from One Drop. It might be easier to try to get parts from some Chinese manufacturers who are already making their own pieces in bulk though.
Fluid print dynamics has some sprs that I have heard good things about, alternatively CYYC used to make sprs
Yes, CYYC (Chico YoYo Company) made CAKs (Chico Anything Kit). I have one, never got around to using it… yet.
I thought I remembered seeing that OD had a kit they sold that had all the necessary parts.
I don’t think it’s sold here, so it shouldn’t be a conflict.
Did you source a location for these Glen?
It is fun, I know they have kits, the aforementioned Chico Anything Kit (CAK).
OneDrop also sells parts that are in the A-RT wood unresponsives, but you have to contact them directly to get them… not sold in stores like the CAK.
Orange ya’ Glad I didn’t turn a banana into a yoyo?
I found some of those for sale somewhere, but they weigh far too much to be be practical for a wooden unresponsive.
I use Onedrop guts, which weigh a third of the light Chico Anything Kit.
Ah, and did you buy them direct from One Drop by contacting them directly?
Yep, David set me up with some.
I’ve got more coming in the post soon to make more unresponsives.
