The Rewind x Sus Viper Remix wings are interchangeable with the Rewind x Sus Newt. So you can get a Newt and add Viper Remix wings to your order. The hubs are shaped somewhat differently but shouldnโ€™t adversely affect 4A usage.

Offstring yoyos generally have a tug response, and the Viper Remix does, so you will also want a โ€œslimโ€/responsive bearing to replace the unresponsive bearing in the Newt. You may want a thick/responsive lube to lube the bearing, if the slim width does not provide sufficient response.

You could also use the Newt with the rims it comes with but youโ€™ll still want it responsive.

does the newt work well with a slim bearing?

I have a pair of newts and donโ€™t know how they would play with a slim bearing but they are super awesome for 3a in the house when my wife is home. You might need a shorter axle if you change the bearings. Also could try to just keep the bearings the same and try thick lube for response. Idk though you probably want a viper remix though like would just be better for 4a like more specialized for the style. Maybe set up a looking for topic LF in buy sell trade.

Edit i didnโ€™t realize the wings were compatible like sleeperhit said above ooops i missed that so uh yeah worth a shot probably maybe idk

I have a Viper Remix (that I am not willing to part with). I just want to mention, that while it is quieter and a little less potentially destructive than my other 4A yoyo, it still has a decent amount of weight to it and the rings are more firm than I had expected. So thereโ€™s still some slap and thud noises as it hits the floor. And it still can knock things over.

I am not saying not to get one if you can find it. Itโ€™s definitely better for indoors, but I wouldnโ€™t want go to great lengths to obtain one, expecting it to be very squishy, and be disappointed. (Also, I drop mine a LOT, so skill might be a factor.)

4A yoyos want the longer spin provided from a full size C bearing. The Viper Remix uses a full size C bearing that sits recessed into each half of the yoyo to have a smaller gap. You do not want offstring yoyos to be responsive. If anything itโ€™s become fairly common to use centering bearings in modern comp offstring yoyos now instead of just staying with the flat so theyโ€™re even less prone to snags.

You can play offstring just fine with any yoyo with a clean slim C bearing, but youโ€™ll only make your life much harder.

I have a pair of Newts I use for 3A and I like them a lot, but I would never even consider using them for 4A unless I truly had no other option.

Viper remix is in stock on the yjyoyo website for 65,000 Korean Won which is about $47. The silver body with pink rim, silver body with blue rim, and black body with lime green rim colourways are available.

I recommend you email him at vgb824@naver.com since youโ€™re purchasing from overseas. Shipping will likely be around 20-25 bucks or so.

how high do they bounce up when they hit the floor? i like to practice at night and my spire just bounces up and make so much noise lol

For science! (Ok, it needs more replicates, but Iโ€™ve got things to do today.) The difference over carpet is not very noticeable, but the hard flooring shows that the Viper Remixโ€™s softer rims do deaden its movement.

that helps so much! thank u. i messaged rewind about when theyre gonna restock it, they said in the next month or so. definitely getting it when it drops
