Ok but what does “good” mean? What do you like, in terms of shape and weight?

If he was just looking for shape and weight, he could… look at the shape and weight… There’s pictures and specs after all. I’m pretty sure he can figure that much out by himself.

You don’t hear much about a lot of those models, which to me means they’re either just “OK” or not many people have them.

Of the ones on your list, to me the Alta is the most exceptional.

Only the Boreas Pro here. It’s a really solid hybrid plastic. It has a great rounded V shape, has a nice smooth finish for grinds if you’re in to that. It has a good spin time and can do just about whatever you want it to do. The only negative I have for it (and for YYE throws in general) is that the pads are slippy and should be changed if you plan to use it as a daily driver.

Favorite on that list would be Alta hands down. It’s one of those yo-yos that really just got overlooked, but the giant steel rims give it some serious power and it’s not overly heavy on the string. Can’t beat it for $75 IMO.

Parser is a really nice one too, but harder to find. (although we may be getting more in soon!) Fast and stable, though with a little more heft than I prefer personally.

I would say Impulse S and Skyva after that - I like the reg Metal Skyva over the 7075 version. Impulse S has the edge with performance, but I really like the feel of the metal skyva and fingerspins are always fun.

You listed a bunch of great yo-yos for their price range honestly. Haven’t tried the Magical or Boreas Pro, but I’d say you cant go wrong with the others.

Honestly I would say Alta is … kind of … a cheaper Edge Beyond.

And I like the Edge Beyond a lot!

I had to go throw them back to back after you said this lol. Same weight and similar construction, but extremely different diameter, weight distribution, and a very different feel in play. I guess you could call it a cheaper edge beyond since the rim construction is similar, but that’s about all they have in common. Either way - Great choice for $75!

It wasn’t a serious comparison

However as I mentioned in the Edge Beyond topic, there is another yoyo that I think feels a lot like the Edge Beyond!

Great, now I have to go throw it back to back with a kuntosh lol.

QUESTION: do you guys keep one model of every yo-yo you’ve ever sold, “just in case”?

Nope, everything gets sold. That would be nice though lol.

I absolutely love the Metal Skyva.
