So who would like to start an OG Peak PiF since apparently a re-release is pretty much completely off the table?
People in here trying to tell CL¥W what they should or shouldn’t do is honestly hillariou§
It ain’t anyone’s place to †ell the brand what should be done. Sure you can give ideas or sugges†ions but some of y’all getting heated for no reason look really silly here and aren’t impressing anyone. ![]()
I’m sure that literally one of the longest running yoyø brands in the modern era isn’t gonna suddenly F∆IL because a few people don’t like the idea of literally one yoyo and if you’re that upset about it, there’s many other brands to support.

This sounds dope! Now I am more curious since it isnt using the peak 2 as the base. Now I’m hyped to see this in hulk smash colorway
If the reasoning for not revisiting the original design is really just priorities then I hope they would be willing to collab with someone who is passionate enough to bring it back, because those people clearly exist.
I just think it sucks that such a loved yoyo is unobtanium for the vast majority of players. Other people take pride in owning rare and expensive yoyos I guess.
@codinghorror This would be the most Deepestest State lol
I was facing the same issue with the OG E1NS. The machining shop tweaked here and there to make it machineable for them.

Technically, due to weirdly limited tools, I milled the other half away (talk about overkill lol). ![]()
Hälfte
That’s gonna have a little vibe…
…‘character’!
Im buying it either way clyw is always out doing themselves sorry that I decide to be grateful![]()
Make a tri-material performance oriented throw and no one bats an eye. Make a copy of a highly sought-after throw from 20 years ago and everyone loses their mind.
Either way im buying the p3ak clyw is always outdoing themselves
I’m actually mad stoked for this redesign. Whether or not it’ll stay in my collection depends entirely on how it plays. Some of the armchair designers in this thread are hilarious lmao. I don’t think a new peak needs to be a 1:1 re-release of the original peak. Caribou Lodge had so many manufacturing problems with the original Peak; all the different runs are practically different yoyos ![]()
Imagine wanting the original 1958 Impala to be what Chevy still makes after almost 70 years. It’s just silly.
Speaking for myself, the redesign’s sick to me. The Creep is one of my all-time favorites from Caribou Lodge. A more Creep-y Peak feels like the right direction for a modern Peak
. I tried an OG Peak, and it played like a yoyo from 2006. A bit heavy, really snaggy, vibey, and unstable. It was fun, but it’s been 20 years. Something new is something new, though, so someone’s gotta punch air.
Aching bones must really suck or something.
Edit: A 1:1 rerelease of the original peak would be cool. But I also don’t really care because it’s a 20 year old yoyo that would primarily sell to the old dudes who want a 1:1 rerelease of the original peak.
Well said man 100% I am excited to try this new iteration.
This is really because yoyo specific machine shops like we have now didn’t exist, not because the design was faulty.
If car companies could legally sell factory new vintage models they absolutely would by the way lol, there is a huge market for that.
Would you call a 1958 re-release of the impala a tame impala
First of all 64 is the one we want
I will also say this- if clyw re-released a peak on a 1-for-1 extent people would only go nuts over it because of the fact they could get their hands on what was an unobtainium yoyo and less because it has aged well. I am not an old head but I think that if you’re going to re-release a yoyo without updating it, that’s not a re-release, it’s just redundant.
They’ve re-released the Avalanche, Glacier Express, and a couple other older models without updating them and they all sold just fine/people really loved them despite them being “slightly outdated”. At the end of the day, I really don’t think they should rule out running a 1:1 Peak in the future, since they themselves have done it with other models successfully. Call it Peak Classic Edition or something like that and release it for the 25th anniversary. Boom, done. Now people don’t have to spend $500-$1k to try out the first CLYW (and a very iconic yoyo) - I think that’s a very good thing!
