Any P3ak News?

That’s a good point. Wasn’t thinking about it like that.

agreed!
feel like a rerelease would also bridge the gap between the old heads and the new comers interested in experiencing yoyo history

you can’t get passionate about yoyo without hearing about it everywhere!

personally, I wasn’t around the yoyo game to ever know of these “old head” throws. I’ve quickly fallen in love with them for their pacing and feel over super wide bi metals though

the steep price tag associated with the peak is pretty discouraging tbh, i feel like it can very easily steer people who’re kinda curious about this genre of yoyo away from it.

Thank you for being an adult during this debate

Tell that to the boogers who slide in my dm’s randomly confronting me about how unimportant the Peak is and if I really loved yoyo history I would’ve done a doc on the SpinHaiku Yo-Joe released in 1999 that inspired Steve Brown, Mark McBride, Paul Han, Ben McPhee, Gentry Stein, John Ando, the guys at OneDrop, Chris Mikulin, Jensen Kimmitt, Hiroyuki Suzuki, Takeshi Matsuura, (various other highly popular players) in their yoyo design and informed their personal style and the only reason it’s been forgotten is because only 500 were made and they were distributed at the 2000 WYYC to people who could do the Fungus Amungus trick but it was legendary at the time because it spun for 45 seconds instead of 40 because the manufacturer added extra weight to the outermost portion of the plastic (at the time not called a rim), and greased and sanded the transaxle so CLEARLY it’s more important than the Peak

I’m not gonna lie, that’s probably the only plothole in the argument to not re-release a 1:1 version, I dont mind the p3ak being a thing, but now that I remember that the glacier express and the avalanche dropped with essentially no changes, that kinda makes me be like, huh, well that is kinda odd now isn’t it, and I can see why people might feel like it was gonna be a 1:1 peak og, I myself did at first too I’ll be honest. But brands are free to make there own decisions, so whether it was a good decision or bad decision is completely preference, or you could just try p3ak when it drops and decide then. :woman_shrugging:t5::black_heart:

This constant obsession towards low wall is completely stupid. The high wall is what gave the Peak its feel and what people want from a Peak. Any “improvement” made is making it less of a Peak. Giving it to a designer who always mindlessly chasing for performance is such a bad move. Please, have some self respect on your own design with such importance. You really shouldn’t be making big moves like that.

Come on… 3D scans can be extremely accurate these days.

If I were to entertain one change to the proto, it’d be checking out how an IRG would change things, since it was on the first gen Peak

Isn’t it funny that ILYY puts in more effort than the big guy CLYW, and not making excuses.

Poor bifurcated yoyos. The horror! The horror! Just sick. Shouldn’t you blur that out!?

Personally I’m really looking forward To the P3AK. Let the og rest in piece.

Honestly, me as well, as much as I love the OG, the P3AK could be even better. Always down for minor tweaks or adjustment in the name of “you never know until you try.” I don’t want to judge something too hard until I’ve actually had a chance to play with it. Been surprised MANY times in the past. Looking forward to giving this one a spin for certain, and appreciate the hard work @unklesteve!

Steve himself confirmed this to be the case.

This topic has pretty much run it’s course.
Thanks for tuning in… :upside_down_face:
