AKURA TI-7068 by LUFTVERK! - Aluminum Meets Titanium in a Bold New Evolution!

AKURA-TI-7068-Featured
The AKURA TI-7068 is the latest evolution in Luftverk’s iconic design legacy, combining 7068 aluminum with titanium rings for a powerful and refined play experience. This model builds on the bold aesthetic of the AKURA MG, bringing new performance dynamics while retaining the signature “brutalist” design first seen in the Evora a decade ago.

What sets the AKURA TI-7068 apart is the innovative use of a hollow air pocket within the titanium rings. This design enhances weight distribution, giving the yo-yo a floaty yet controlled play feel while maintaining the chunky rims that define the AKURA series. The titanium-aluminum construction allows for optimized proportions and performance, overcoming the limitations of the ultra-light magnesium used in the AKURA MG.

Crafting the TI-7068 required creative problem-solving to balance the yo-yo’s proportions and weight. By incorporating the hollow-ring concept, the design achieves its distinctive thick rims without adding unnecessary mass. The result is a yo-yo that delivers balanced, powerful spins with a unique play feel reminiscent of double-wall designs.

Aesthetically, the TI-7068 is stunning. The titanium ring’s concave meniscus is elegantly framed by its junction with the aluminum body. Color options include a custom blue, a Millennium Jade green inspired by the R34 Skyline, and limited silver/raw editions.

The AKURA TI-7068 celebrates 10 years of Luftverk, blending artistry and innovation to push the boundaries of modern yo-yo design. Whether you’re a collector or a player seeking exceptional performance, this release is a testament to Luftverk’s dedication to craftsmanship and creativity.

I just played with this for about 5 minutes straight, and somehow it made me feel like a better yo-yoer LOL! Sometimes, when performing certain tricks, you might need to “throw harder” or be more forceful to execute rejections or slack moves that need extra tension. But with this yo-yo, it feels like you don’t need to try so hard—it just flows effortlessly, and I absolutely love it!

This might be one of my favorite Luftverk throws of all time. Of course, it comes down to personal preference, but I’m a huge fan of the hollow feel. It handles everything I throw at it with ease—binds, regens, technical moves—all without feeling too heavy or too light. Not only is this yo-yo stunning to look at, but it performs at an 11 out of 10 for me!

Amazing work as always, @jeffreypang911! <3

Little bit of a necro here, sorry lol.

Anyone have one of these that can bust out some calipers and measure the specs? YYE and Luftverk website differ and I’d like to confirm sizing before committing. Lately I’ve been loving the approx 54 x 46 sized yoyos, and I’m hoping YYE’s specs are correct.

i got you. give me a few minutes

edit: i measured 54.14 dia x 45.91 width (using a $20 steel caliper)

It’s really odd that the specs are different on the two sites.
