Currently, the site spellchecker accepts “yo-yo” but not “yoyo” as valid spellings. I’d like to nominate “yoyo” as a valid spelling as well. Of all the words that should not trigger that annoying red underline on this forum site, it is the word yoyo.
Wouldn’t that just be on your computer? When I type yoyo or yo-yo neither are underlined as spelled incorrectly.
But where? Usually spellchecking is application-driven, so would that mean I would have to add the word somehow to my browser’s dictionary?
I’m on a Mac so it’s just Right Click > Learn Spelling. I do this all the time for yo-yo/player names to avoid auto correct issues.
Ah, I see “Add to dictionary” in the right-click menu. Thanks!
Now to add “performant”…
Might also depend on what browser you are using.
If I’m using chrome, yoyo is underlined as spelled incorrectly.
If I’m using firefox it doesn’t “offer” any spelling corrections at all.
Spellcheck is a browser function, not a forum function.
Wut ar uz al taukin ibout? Spil chic wurks purfict!
I bet that whole sentence was underlined in red.
Spellchucker recognized “chic”.
It’s a real word, pronounced “sheek”
It means elegantly and stylishly fashionable
