@MikeEff - I felt like I got an awful lot out of it, but it also felt constraining after about 8 months at it. For example, I found myself excited to tryout finger spins, which became pretty popular in the last 16 months, and it just wasn’t an option with the fixed axle yoyos I used, which were mostly No Jives, TMBRs, Duncan Wheels, and BC Apollos. I also often found myself with ideas that I just couldn’t pull off with a fixed axle yoyo. On the other hand, I found the limits that a fixed axle yoyo imposes to be very productive for creativity, and I also left with a serious appreciation for the discoveries made during the time before the world of bearing yoyos … it’s been humbling, in fact.
In any event, kudos to those of you who took the challenge and or made fixed axle a bigger part of your yoyoing over the past year.
